The results of the literature review will contribute to a recommended strategic approach to the delivery of speech-language pathology (SLP) services in Alberta. [...] Purpose The objective of the literature review was to examine the strengths and issues related to speech and language pathology services delivered to preschool and school-aged children. [...] Organization of report The remainder of the body of this report presents the findings of the literature review, organized into the following sections:. [...] A table of comparative studies on the topic of service models is presented in Appendix B, and a full bibliography of all relevant articles identified is listed in Appendix C. General information A median prevalence of 5.95% is reported for children with primary speech or language delays in the general population of children up to 16 years of age. [...] In the education field, the concept of inclusion has stimulated the development of service delivery models that consider the unique needs of each child.
